At Milestones, we believe children thrive when they are free to explore, play, and discover in a nurturing environment grounded in respect, responsibility, and community. Our curriculum follows an emergent approach, meaning that learning experiences are built around the interests, ideas, and curiosity of the children. Teachers observe and listen carefully to what children are drawn to and then design activities, projects, and discussions that expand on those interests. This approach encourages children to think creatively, explore deeply, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

At the heart of everything we do is the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children. This evidence-based framework focuses on helping children build strong relationships, learn to understand and manage their emotions, and develop the social skills they need to succeed in school and in life. By emphasizing positive relationships, supportive environments, and individualized instruction, the Pyramid Model ensures that every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

We also believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Family involvement is always welcomed and encouraged as we work together to create a nurturing community where children grow with confidence, kindness, and curiosity.
